First, thanks so much for all of the positive feedback on this project. It was truly a pleasure from start to finish. There's nothing like seeing what you envision come to fruition. I count it a blessing to help my clients create homes that they love.
The talented teen that occupies this space is lucky enough to have a private bath attached to her bedroom and it too needed to be addressed.
It was fairly basic and like the adjoining space, not bad, just not very youthful. The clients weren't really interested in doing any renovations here, but more just sprucing things up with age appropriate décor.
See, pretty basic.
We've addressed the closet door by adding a sliding barn door.
Hopefully it will be installed very soon.

We also added a closet organization system that really changed everything in terms of space usage in the closet. I'm a huge fan of systems like these. I couldn't live in my home if I hadn't had them installed in mine.
Next, we needed to begin with the wall color. The existing taupe was just not fresh enough for the look we wanted to achieve. We kept it consistent by carrying the alabaster wall color into this space.
Sherwin Williams' Alabaster is a great white as it add a clean quality with a hint of warmth.

I knew I wanted to continue with the pastel theme and started by selecting a shower curtain. The pom pom trim on this Ballard Designs Audree shower curtain was perfect. I love that it came in a longer length, allowing us to hang it higher than the typical 72" shower curtain. This creates a bit of height and drama by drawing the eye upward. The monogram was a must and, in my opinion, adds a more youthful feel. The spa color we opted for in the shower curtain was a little more muted than I'd hoped so I knew we needed to punch it up a bit with a rug. I went with this rosy scroll runner and it immediately changed the tone of the space.
The runner was perfect for the long space. I love that the rug begins at the entrance of the space and runs the length of the bathroom.
This abstract art was the perfect element to tie everything together. I thought it was important to add a couple of artistic elements since the client is an aspiring artist herself. From there, coordinating bath accessories finish things off.
I loved these gold mirrors that are a whimsical take on the traditional sunburst mirror. Their three dimensional quality adds a little depth to the space.
