"A Stenciled Backsplash"

Hi there!  Hope you had a great weekend. As promised, I'm back today with a follow up post from my latest install.  As I mentioned, my clients were looking to pull together the look in their family room.  The space is an open concept and flows into the eat-in kitchen area.

Of course, that meant not only did we need to update the living space, but we also needed to address the adjoining spaces as well.  With budget in mind, I sought out inspiration for ways to give the kitchen a bit of an update.

Here's where the power of social media comes into play.  I follow so many talented designers, DIYers and bloggers on social media that my feeds are always flooded with great ideas.  This one was courtesy of Saudah Saleem Interiors.  She posted one of her client projects that included this gorgeous stenciled backsplash.

Gorgeous, right?  I knew this would be the perfect solution for my client's space as well.  After browsing the vast selection of small scale wall stencils on Cutting Edge Stencils' website, I landed on this trellis print.

We began with an nice empty surface that was the perfect spot for a graphic design.

And with the already proven (See HERE) process, I dove right in.  Needless to say this project was much easier than my last stenciling venture.  It took about 3 hours to do three sections of the kitchen wall space.

I chose a light creamy almost iridescent white.  I actually picked it up at the Habitat ReStore on a recent trip.  The small space and the small scale print didn't require much paint at all.  I think it totally does wonders for the kitchen.  See for yourself....

A small investment of time and money paid off once again.

I love it so much, guess what I think I'm going to do in my kitchen.
