Score!!

Typically my blog posts are about some great thing I saw and didn't get, or that I dream of having, but today I'm pleased to report that this time I scored. So, you know how much I love bamboo furniture. I'm drawn to it like a moth to a flame.  In it's natural state, it looks very Asian, but I also love the fact that it looks so great painted. There's something so fresh and modern about it.

 It's one of the things that I search for on Craigslist almost daily.  As you know, I've mentioned bamboo furniture already in a handful of posts.  Remember these chairs?

Needless to say, when I saw this $20 beauty on Craigslist late one night, I almost sprang out of the bed. 

After calling the owner the next morning and realizing that it was still up for grabs, I scurried 35 miles to get it as quickly as possible before someone else did.  You should've seen me and the owner trying to figure out how to get this desk into my coupe.

Thankfully, we finally did. I'm going to use it to replace the bookshelf next to my bed.  It's one of those pieces that I purchased when I was just starting out and never got around to upgrading.

I'm leaning toward painting the desk white, but something like this one.....

... is really tempting too.  I'm so excited!  I can hardly wait to work on it.  I'll definitely let you know how it turns out.
