"Master Makeover: Week 3"

Well, I'm closing in on my deadline for completing my Master Makeover!  This week thing really began to take shape.

For starters, the minty green walls are no more...

We've exchanged them for a much more neutral backdrop by going with Valspar's Oat bran and I'm loving the result!

It really is amazing what paint can do.

I also received the new bedside chest.  I have to say I was really surprised that they were actually pretty nice.

They offer excellent storage, but were a little too rustic for me.  A little gold spray paint and that quickly changed.

Here's a quick tip:  When spray painting small nails/screws, I use a paper plate to lay them flat.

Then I simply spray the paper plate. So much easier to get the paint exactly where it needs to be.

Once I began to put my furnishing back in the space, things quickly began to take shape.

I stumbled upon a store in Denver, NC called the Red Tag Outlet that had a few great accessories at very reasonable prices so I picked up a few things that will be perfect for the makeover.

Lastly, after a great yard sale on Saturday morning, I was able to get rid of lots of castoffs including my old headboard and even my bedding.  Now all I have to do is wait on Baity's Custom Upholstery to finish up my ottomans, chair and headboard and pick up my pillows and drapes from the work room.

I'm so excited with this project I can hardly stand it.  Stay tuned....
