"Habitat ReStore ReStyle Design Challenge"

One of the perks of being a Habitat ReStore blogger is getting to attend and support all of the local Habitat ReStore events.  There's a great one coming up this Friday evening and I can't wait!  The other Metrolina ReStore bloggers (Jennifer, Rachel and Donna) and I will be attending the Habitat ReStore ReStyle Design Challenge at the Mooresville, NC location.

Basically, the ReStore ReStyle Design Challenge is an annual fundraiser held at the Mooresville ReStore whose purpose is to highlight the ReStores and their impact on the community through creative repurposing. Local area designers, bloggers and DIYers (there are eight) are challenged to decorate 10’x10’ rooms utilizing only donated product available from the Mooresville & Cornelius ReStores. Each room will demonstrate how items found in the ReStores can be “ReStyled.”

How cool is that?  I'm super excited to see what the challengers have put together.  One of the participants, The Weekend Homemaker, posted about one of her projects that will be featured in her design on her blog recently.  You can read about it HERE on her blog.  She took an vintage dresser mirror and repurposed it into a memo station complete with cork and chalk boards.  Love it!

I have a feeling this is going to be a DIY showdown.  Here are a few pics from previous year's events.
