"A Delayed Dining Room Reveal"

I'm often amazed by how time seems to pass so quickly.  Just about a year ago I decided that maybe it was time to take the advice of so many who had told me that I really should be decorating for other people.  I thought I'd start out slowly with a blog and get a couple of projects in as practice.  Well, one thing led to another and here I am with a full-fledged business.  It's been quite a ride.  

It dawned on me that while I included it in my portfolio, I never shared with you one of my very first client projects.   It was a dining room that was pretty much a blank slate.  The homeowner had recently repainted and didn't really know where to proceed from there.

So I put together my first Olioboard to paint a picture of what I had in mind for the space. 



The room already had beautiful ornate dining  furniture, but the room was desperately seeking a little style.

We opted for earth tones to compliment the green hued paint color and selected a modern print drape.  We also replaced the builder basic light fixture with one that added a little vintage charm.

A few accessories and a larger rug to ground the space and we were done.

I really wish more people realized that an up-to-date and well-decorated space really is within reach.   It's the finishing touches like drapes, art work and accessories that really make a house feel like a home.
